What God Has Joined
“What God has joined together let no man separate.” Matthew 19:6
After seven days of Creation, God established one of the most sacred covenant on the planet- Marriage. Although many try to redefine it, and others try to change it, let’s explore God’s purposes for this sacred institution.
In His Image
“The LORD will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you in His love; He will rejoice over you with loud singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
From day-to-day we can be so preoccupied with the world, the flesh and the devil, we forget how priceless and sacred people are. This Sunday, let’s lay aside every distraction and witness God’s gladness toward us; be renewed in His love, and hear His voice of “loud singing” over us.
Sabat
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11
Why did God rest when he finished his work? Why would a perfect God need rest? What is it about Our nature that requires a true sabbath rest from the toils of our cursed world? This Sunday will explore a simple, three verse passage in the beginning of the Bible that tells us almost everything we need to know about the nature of our Lord, the nature of our world, and the nature of your soul.
Rare Earth
“When I consider Your heavens, the works of Your fingers; the moon and the stars which You have ordained, what is man that you are mindful of him, or his children that You visit him?” Psalm 8:3-4
All the science books ever written fail to answer some of man’s most basic questions about Creation. The Bible doesn’t answer our questions either. Perhaps a more worthy goal is not an answer, but to glorify God, and to see the value God places on our lives. Join us as we dive into the first five days of Creation.
The First Day
“Indeed these (all created things) are the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him. But the thunder of His power, who can understand?” Job 26:14
Sunday’s study focuses on the “First Day” of creation, and what the Scriptures tell us about it, both the obvious and unobvious, and how the bigger picture of Creation can effect out perspective of life today.
Genesis Worldviews
Have you ever really thought about how the world started? Upon close scrutiny only one worldview of creation actually makes any sense. This Sunday we will consider alternate worldviews and you will see that they are actually silly. The creation of all things seen and unseen only makes sense in light of the power of Jesus Christ.
